Superbement adapté au cinéma par Todd Haynes avec la magnétique Cate Blanchett dans le rôle de Carol, et la Audrey Hepburnesque Rooney Mara dans celui de Therese - et bande son entêtante signée Carter Burwell. Le roman est aussi bon que le film, ce qui est rare ! Et complémentaires : les points de vue sont symétriques, celui de Thérèse dans le roman, celui de Carol dans le film.
